Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about SiteGrade SEO audits, GEO readiness, and how to improve your site.

What is a SiteGrade SEO audit report?

A SiteGrade SEO audit report is a comprehensive analysis of your website's search engine optimization. It covers on-page factors (title tags, meta descriptions, headings, image alt text), technical SEO (canonical tags, sitemap, robots.txt, HTTPS, page speed indicators), structured data (JSON-LD schema markup), and GEO readiness (AI visibility for Google's AI Overviews). Each report includes a score from 0 to 100, a categorized list of issues, and actionable fixes you can implement immediately.

How do I read and understand my SEO audit report?

Your report is divided into categories: On-Page SEO (title tags, meta descriptions, H1–H6 hierarchy, image alt text), Technical SEO (canonical URLs, sitemap.xml, robots.txt, HTTPS, redirects, 404 handling), Structured Data (JSON-LD schema, Open Graph tags, Twitter Cards), and GEO Readiness (AI visibility, content depth, semantic markup). Each issue has a severity level — critical, warning, or info — and a specific fix. Start with critical issues first, as they have the biggest impact on rankings. The overall score reflects how well-optimized your site is across all categories.

What does the SEO audit score mean?

The score ranges from 0 to 100. 90–100 means your site is well-optimized with minor issues. 70–89 means there are several fixable problems affecting performance. 50–69 indicates significant SEO gaps that need attention. Below 50 means your site has major issues that are likely preventing it from ranking. The score is weighted — critical issues like missing title tags or broken canonicals impact the score more than minor warnings like missing alt text.

What is GEO readiness and why does it matter?

GEO readiness measures how well your site is prepared for AI-powered search engines like Google's AI Overviews, ChatGPT search, and Perplexity. It checks whether your content is structured in a way that AI models can understand and cite. Factors include semantic HTML, structured data (schema markup), clear heading hierarchy, descriptive meta tags, and accessible content that doesn't require JavaScript to render. GEO readiness is becoming increasingly important as more searches shift to AI-generated answers.

What is the difference between Basic, Standard, and Pro audit tiers?

Basic (~1–2 min) checks essential on-page and technical SEO factors — title tags, meta descriptions, headings, canonical URLs, sitemap, and robots.txt. Standard (~3–5 min) adds structured data analysis, Open Graph tags, image alt text, internal link checking, and security headers. Pro (~5–10 min) includes everything in Standard plus GEO readiness scoring, AI visibility checks, content depth analysis, mobile usability, and comprehensive PDF report generation.

How long does an SEO audit take?

A SiteGrade audit takes between 1 and 10 minutes depending on the tier. Basic scans complete in 1–2 minutes, Standard in 3–5 minutes, and Pro in 5–10 minutes. The tool crawls your live website, analyzes the HTML, checks technical configurations, and generates a report in real time. No signup or account is required — just paste your URL and click analyze.

Is SiteGrade really free?

Yes, SiteGrade is completely free. No signup, no credit card, no account required. You can run unlimited audits on any website. The tool is open-core — basic features are free forever, and we don't sell your data or track you with cookies.

What should I fix first after running an audit?

Prioritize fixes by severity: (1) Critical — missing title tags, broken canonical URLs, no HTTPS, missing meta descriptions. These directly impact rankings. (2) Warnings — missing H1 tags, low content depth, missing image alt text, broken internal links. (3) Enhancements — adding Open Graph tags, Twitter Cards, expanding structured data, improving GEO readiness. Fix all critical issues first, then work through warnings. Re-run the audit after each batch of fixes to track your score improvement.

Yes — you can export all leads with enrichment data and outreach angles to CSV, then import into any CRM, email tool, or spreadsheet. Pro and Business plans include CSV export. Direct CRM integrations are on the roadmap.

How does AI lead scouting work?

You describe your ideal customer profile (ICP) in plain English — for example, "SaaS founders with 10-50 employees who recently raised Series A." The AI searches across LinkedIn, Twitter, company websites, and directories to find matching leads, then enriches each lead with company details, role, and relevant context for personalized outreach.
